“The President’s Face” exhibit is a collection of rare photographs and portraits on loan to the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library from private collections. It includes 19th century portrait artist Henry Ulke’s portrait of Ulysses S. Grant, along with related photographs of the President in formal and casual settings. Other photographs in the collection show presidents Abraham Lincoln and James Garfield and shed light on the relatively new art of photography and its evolution through the last half of the 19th century. The exhibit will be on display through April 30, 2016 at the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library, at MSU’s Mitchell Memorial Library.
