Plan Your Visit

The Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library is located on the fourth floor of Mitchell Memorial Library, on the beautiful campus of Mississippi State University, in Starkville, Mississippi.

Parking

Please do not enter gated areas or park in spots designated for university administration. We are not able to assist with unauthorized entry of gated areas.

Timed ParkMobile app is available to pay for parking by the hour, or day passes can be purchased through Parking Services at 662-325-3526. Visitors with large vehicles like RVs or cars pulling trailers will need to call Parking Services.

The closest parking lots are on Moseley Drive near the Longest Student Health Center and the Industrial Engineering Building (IED). You will see fountains at Eckie Pond. See the attached map and link to the interactive map of campus showing options for visitor parking.

Walking Directions to the Library

After parking, you will then walk between Stennis Institute and Simrall and cross Hardy Road to Mitchell Memorial Library. See the attached map.

Directions HWY 182W

1. Turn left onto Lee Street at the traffic light.
2. Continue to the traffic light at the intersection with Wingo Way.
3. Turn left onto Wingo Way.
4. Continue straight on Wingo Way until you come to a traffic light at Moseley Drive.
5. Turn right onto Moseley Drive.
6. Take your immediate left into the parking lot. You can park in any of these connecting lots behind the Longest Student Health Center in D-3.
7. You will also find ParkMobile visitor parking in D-2 behind the Industrial Engineering building (the building has two large towers and red brick).

Transit

S.M.A.R.T. (Starkville-MSU Area Rapid Transit) stops at Mitchell Memorial Library Monday-Friday on the MSU Central route. MSU’s own shuttle system runs throughout campus and into Starkville, with special shuttles for late nights and game days. The MSU Central route stops regularly at Mitchell Memorial Library. Directions from HWY 12

1. Turn onto Blackjack Road and continue straight for approximately 1.5 miles.
2. You will continue straight through a traffic circle (the 2nd exit) to stay on Blackjack, keeping the Shell station to your right.
3. Continue straight through the light at Hardy Road.
4. Turn left onto Wingo Way, you will see a sign for the Hangout.
5. Continue on Wingo Way until you reach a traffic light at Moseley Drive.
6. Turn left onto Moseley.
7. You will find ParkMobile parking on both sides of Moseley. Lots are behind the Industrial Engineering building (the building has two large towers and red brick).
