Ryan P. Semmes is Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Congressional and Political Research Center at the Mississippi State University Libraries. He obtained his doctorate in History from Mississippi State University where his dissertation focused on the connections between foreign and domestic policy during the Reconstruction era. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Master of Arts in Public History and a Master of Library and Information Science. He has worked as an archivist and librarian since 2001. He has been on the faculty at Mississippi State University since 2007 and has worked as archivist with the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library at MSU since 2009.
